Polarized Kodachrome

The other night, I shot outdoors on a sunny evening using Kodachrome super 8 and Kodachrome 64 slide film...tried out my new polarizing filter...I'm still waiting for the movie film to come back, but i did get the slides back....oh, boy...everyone's gotta try this!!! The slides were fantastic!!!! Every color took on an extra dimension of saturation..the sky was great, the greens were crisp, and the reds...oh man...this turned out better than i expected!!! As soon as I get the super 8 film back, I'll let you know how that turned out...I am going to use a polarizing filter on all my future outdoor shots...fantastic!!!! Is Kodachrome 64 essentially the same process as Kodachrome 40? Is it also a dye transfer process, where the dyes are added in later? That would explain why the local places can't process it.

I would say that all kodachrome stocks go through a similar developing process. Were you working with a blue sky when you did your shots?

How did your "no sky in the background" shots come out?

Yes, the sky was blue...a pale blue. The filter deepened and made the color more pronounced. Most of the shots had the sky in them, but even the ones that didnt were rich and saturated. Maybe it was Dwayne's that developed it?
